4 Tips on Target Market for Health Coaches

I’m going to share with you a few things that are uncommon knowledge with target markets when starting a business.

1. The target market has nothing to do with an avatar.

When choosing a target market and niche work for your business, I think the most important thing for you to understand is that it has nothing at all to do with an avatar. Many of you would have been taught that an avatar is the target market – I work with a woman, she's in her 30, she has three kids. She juggles a job and a part-time business, and she's feeling burnt out. That is an avatar, not target market work.

If you're looking at a target market through an avatar lens, which most people and a lot of the health coaching schools do teach, a lot of basic business training teach that. It's just not the case.

2. You should only ever talk to one person in your marketing/packages.

The next thing is that you can only ever talk to ONE person. You can only ever talk to one person in your marketing. You can only create a package for one person, and this is where most people get so stuck because they're trying to work out too many people with different pain points.

You can only ever create clear, energetic target market work for your business when you are talking to one ideal client.

3. Nobody buys ‘Health Coaching’ - you need to learn the language.

You're never going to just sell someone health coaching. You don't go into a pharmacy or a drug store to buy a health coaching tablet, that doesn't even make sense. It is about learning the language of pain points, the benefits or pain points and desired outcomes and learning to connect in a human way with your one ideal client using that language.

For example, take a Cypress essential oil – You would only buy it because somebody has told you about its benefits that solve your issue or produce your desired outcome.

4. You want an ideal client that wants to change.

There are 4 stages that your clients could be in, and you want clients that are in Stage 2 – someone who is looking to make a transformation in their life.

When you are targeting and attracting plants in that specific zone and only that specific zone, you'll no longer feel like, “Oh, I'm trying to convince people.” This is someone who wants to change.

And now you can have a very healthy and clean 50-50 relationship – where you as the coach is 50%, the ideal client is doing their 50%.

There are a lot of deeper reasons why we need to get this at a target market level. Before we ever start to actually create a package or put any kind of social media marketing out there, getting on a discovery call, or delivering a package, if we don't understand this, this one route can be the root cause behind a lot of things that don't end up flowing in your business in the way that you want.

So I could talk all day about target market. I just did two hours deep dive on top of the business training module for target market this week. I'm sure all the ladies are buzzing just as much as I am. And I just wanted to give you just a little touch of the taste of how I teach target market.

It is quite different from what is in most business training. And I believe in the health coaching space, life coaching, healing space, they really take off in the way that you want.

So I hope that there's a little bit of an “Aha!” there for you today as well.

Love,

Amanda xx
