So, why would we ever think we are supposed to just figure things out on our own without any true coaching and guidance? Here's what it looks like to be a DIY coach vs a coach who invests in her business (and herself!). Who ends up being better off? Read on to find out!

The DIY Coach vs The Coach Who Invests in Her Business

Today I want to talk about the really important difference I see in coaches who are trying to DIY their businesses and make enough money before they invest in themselves, and coaches who invest in support right away.

Here’s the DIY business model:

  1. You get your coach certification or have other qualifications and experience and make the choice to start working with clients

  2. You might tell a few people what you do, post here and there, and even offer free coaching so you can get experience and get started.

  3. You get a few clients and make a little money, maybe, but you’re finding it hard to keep it going and to charge them enough money to build an actual business.

  4. You’re also faced with all the things to do that it looks like other people are doing.

  5. You wonder if coaching is even viable and consider filling out your resume again.

It might not happen exactly like that for everyone, and it is going to be the most difficult route to take.

And I see it over and over again.

You want to wait to really invest your time, energy, attention and money into your business until you prove to yourself that you can make real money in your business.

The problem is, the business isn't becoming the real business you want to make it because it needs those things.

It needs your intention, your focus, and investment.

And, frankly, if I'm going to be perfectly honest, people who tell you that you can build a successful thriving business that allows you a life of freedom, where you are not hustling and overwhelming yourself without also investing into that business at all are probably not being honest with you.

Every new business requires some kind of up front investment.

Because the truth also is that when you choose to do business and to build a career that you love there is always going to be a risk to that. Every successful entrepreneur knows that anything that is worth pursuing takes risk. You can take strategic and calculated risks, and at some point, you do have to get out of your comfort zone, trust in your journey, and put yourself out there.

Here’s an example of what can happen when you do:

We recently shared a testimonial from one of our UPswing Mastermind graduates, Jaime Tan. Before she joined UPswing, she had been putting off building her business for a year even after completing a 4 year nutrition degree and health coach certification. Even after that, she was going to pursue another certification so she’d feel confident and ready.

Instead, she made a different choice. She invested in herself and joined the UPswing Mastermind. She quickly realised that she had everything she needed to get started. She took part in the 30-day challenge we offer in UPswing and within the first week and a half, she had already booked 8 Discovery Calls and converted 5 of those to new clients!

There are so many stories like that from other students in the UPswing Mastermind

What’s the difference?

Having a structure, proven curriculum, coaching support, and a clear plan of action.

We tell you EXACTLY what you can do to book clients and earn a consistent income. We take the guesswork out of it for you and support you along the way.

That’s why so many of our members chose to leave the DIY model. Many on the DIY model will find themselves in the same position 6 months from now. In less than 6 months, members of UPswing will find themselves will real businesses and a consistent plan of action.

The UPswing Mastermind application deadline is the 1st of November!

Make sure to get your application in and book your Discovery Call so you can join this coming week! Click here to get started!

I can’t wait to welcome you into the UPswing community 🤝

Love,

Amanda xx
